LOUISIANA BROWNFIELDS TAX CREDITS

Wednesday, October 24th, 2007

January 1, 2008, the Louisiana Brownfields Investor Tax Credit amendments, La. R.S. 47:6021, became effective. The amendments provide Louisiana Income Tax Credits for Brownfields environmental site investigation costs (15%) and contamination cleanup costs (50%), completed and certified through the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality’s Voluntary Remediation Program. The credits are transferable to any Louisiana taxpayer who is a non-responsible party in the remediation effort. TEA can help you identify potential projects or assist you with application of the credit to an existing project.

NEW EMERGENCY RESPONSE SERVICES

Monday, October 1st, 2007

Emergency Response is the newest service available from TEA. Our professionals have teamed with other experienced emergency responders to provide complete turnkey services for catastrophic incidents, natural disasters, and chemical/environmental emergencies. Once notified of an emergency, TEA mobilizes highly trained scientists and toxicologists armed with top-of-the-line equipment to the site to collect and monitor data using the TerraBase® web-based data management system. This data is then used for quick decision-making, human health and environmental risk management, and development of a remediation plan, if necessary. By responding rapidly, TEA is poised to provide expert witness services if litigation becomes an issue.
