Dr. Blancher at WEFTEC
Monday, November 17th, 2008Eldon C. (Don) Blancher, II, Ph.D., chair of WEF’s Ecology & Aquatic Resources committee, recently attended the 81st Annual Water Environment Federation Technical Exhibition and Conference (WEFTEC 2008) in Chicago. In addition to his participation with the Ecology and Water Resources Committee, he also participated in the Watershed Committee and Government Affairs committee meetings. He is part of the Government Affairs Committee’s Nutrient Work Group preparing a white paper on Nutrients and Sewage Treatment Plants in response to a NRDC petition to EPA to include nutrient controls as part of secondary treatment standards. Dr. Blancher is also co-chair of WEF’s 2009 TMDL Specialty conference to be held in Minneapolis next August.
