TEA, Inc. was selected to perform environmental consulting for the largest industrial bankruptcy in U.S. history, the General Motors/Motors Liquidation Company case. The Business section of the August 21, 2011 issue of The Advocate includes an informative piece on TEA, Inc., titled “BR firm specializes in green, sustainable cleanups.” The article highlights the work performed for Motor’s Liquidation Company (MLC) – the old General Motors (GM). TEA, Inc. evaluated and screened various of the GM portfolio of properties slated for environmental cleanup (89 sites in 14 states) for alternative green and sustainable cleanups, and developed feasibility evaluations on eight of those sites.

General Motors Baton Rouge Connection

Monday, August 1st, 2011

The role of the TEA, Inc. team, led by Dr. Brad Droy, in providing environmental consulting for Motors Liquidation Company (MLC) is highlighted in the most recent issue of the Baton Rouge Business Report (July 27, 2011). The article titled An Engineering Feat covers the General Motors Chapter 11 Bankruptcy, and its Baton Rouge connection. Mr. Jim Redwine, a Baton Rouge environmental attorney, was chosen to manage the environmental liabilities for Motor’s Liquidation Company (MLC), formerly General Motors Corporation. A team of TEA, Inc. professionals worked with Mr. Redwine in the enormous task of putting together realistic feasibility plans for the cleanup of multiple MLC sites across the nation, as well as developing a green and sustainable remediation matrix to evaluate strategies to be considered. This bankruptcy is the largest and most complex in U.S. history. Mr. Redwine has cooperated with government regulators, including officials from 14 states, an American Indian tribe, the Environmental Protection Agency, the U.S. Department of Treasury, the Department of Labor and—last but not least—the White House to accomplish this feat in record time. TEA, Inc. was honored to contribute environmental services toward this monumental effort. Click here to view the entire Baton Rouge Business Report article.
